it's a sturdy, larger pocket knife made in Japan for export with a gorgeous engraved double sided case, with room for engraved initials or a short word/name

while this shop doesn't pretend to know the grading of pen knife blades, this seems like a very usable, practical knife as a file or a knife. it's possible the knife blade will need sharpening or professional cleaning, but it doesn't know any noteworthy damage

minor brown/rust spotting at the base of the blade near the markings

modest patina throughout the design details of the engraving

heavier darkening/patina on the file

secure bail that swivels slightly

blade and file both pull out of the case fully and nestle securely within the case
