the gold plating shows very little wear
chain was sourced dark with patina and a liquid cleaner was used to remove the dark spots
gold plating is many things: it is a lesson in non-attachment, a lovely way to prototype a gold hue without a huge financial commitment, and it is a thin layer atop this sterling silver, so it will wear away with time, wear, etc. the silver beneath will reveal itself and will form patina over time, which may create uneven dark spots throughout the gold overlay. gold plating will wear faster with hand polishing and friction, so a liquid cleaner is recommended and to lengthen the time between cleanings it's advisable to store gold plated items in a ziplock bag or similar to avoid oxidation when not being worn.
jump rings between chain and clasps are not soldered shut, but they're a thick, sturdy gauge. they do not lie flat like the curb links
