reimagined V I N T A G E // memento mori / 14k and 10k yellow gold and diamond skull ring / Memento Mori / size 5.5

the most recent manifestation of the memento mori conversion ring project I seem to have going over here. a wearable prayer about being present and grateful and aware of our mortality, rather than floating through this lifetime with the illusion of forever ahead of us.

this is a true one of a kind. each one of the memento mori rings has its own personality, and per usual, this is crafted from an antique 10k slightly rosy yellow gold fraternal pin paired with a 14k and diamond half eternity band. the skull's face has new diamond eyes, replacing the old synthetic ruby eyes

*the skull's face is very very slightly rosier in hue than the 10k yellow gold band

the original fraternal Greek inlaid enamel letters have been hand filed off of the skull's forehead and the whole piece carefully designed and assembled to make it a perfect stacking ring, BUT the skull's chin has a little chin rest,  so it doesn't stack flush against another band on that side — it can stack with the skull 'right side up' at the bottom of a stack, or 'facing out' at the top of a stack

C O N D I T I O N

in good upcycled condition

the forehead has some inconsistencies throughout the surface from where the inlaid enamel Greek letters were removed

surface scratches, dents and dings throughout the surface of the gold

solder marks visible where the skull was joined with the setting

a few of the diamonds have minor surface chips, but nothing big enough to warrant being replaced
