an antique British medal that had never been adorned with an accomplishment or sentiment has newly been adorned with an engraved cat face on the center shield

is this your cat? an ode to felines? a reminder of how fierce things come in small packages?

the back of the fob is unadorned, which leaves possibilities for more engraving if you go that route at a later date

it's a true one of a kind that marries old and new

the hue is rosy, though the recessed areas of the fob are yellower in hue — unsure if this is from patina or not

fob measures ~31mm north/south excluding bails x ~24.6mm east/west x ~1.8mm thick

parallel bail with the larger opening has a ~4.8mm inner diameter 

smaller perpendicular bail has a ~2.5mm inner diameter

weighs 8.4g, which is fairly heavy for its size. it will need a chain sturdy enough to support the weight

the shield and frame seem to be soldered to the the back piece, which leaves a seam along the sides

time-earned patina and character throughout the surface of the gold

surface scratches, dents and dings throughout the surface of the gold consistent with an antique piece of jewelry that has been worn and loved over the span of a century
