after a bit of internet sleuthing it appears that this style was released by UNCAS at least twice and that this is the earlier solid version with a flat back, rather than domed/hollowed snakes to save on silver. so, let's guess that this is the older version of the design, which matches with its time-earned wear and the condition it was in when it was sourced, which was pretty rough
to bring this ring into its next era it has all new emerald eyes carefully set to give the eyes a bit more prominence and design

in good rehabbed vintage condition
-significant wear to the engraved scale details
-faint sizing seam that was done very well and they continued the snake coils
-new emerald eyes are set by hand and have wonderful natural inclusions visible without magnification
-overall the form has softened, but is quite sturdy
-this is a dark hue of sterling silver to begin with and then there's a bit of time-earned patina. polishing would result in losing some of the remaining scales and wouldn't bring it to a bright hue, because the silver is a darker alloy
this is a vintage item and will show surface scratches, dents, dings, dulling, wear, patina, and signs of having been worn and loved
