it's a portal to another dimension, or it's a really sparkly wonderful old solitaire proving that there's stardust in everything on this planet. the video of this stone's sparkle was taken on an overcast, rainy day, so you can imagine how it sparkles in full sun.
it's bold, but simple. it's geometric, but floral. it's soft, but crisp. so many gorgeous design detail juxtapositions in such a small area.

an edwardian style filigree ring with decades of time-earned patina throughout the yellow gold giving it a dark, brassy hue. the geometric white gold settings with tiny accent diamonds hint at a later creation date, likely the 1930s. and it's large, sparkly solitaire ushers in daydreams of opulence and abundance.
large center stone is white with blue undertones and tests as either a topaz or spinel, and is FULL of sparkle on a budget. it has not been evaluated by a gemologist, so the cost reflects the uncertainty about the type of stone and whether its synthetic or natural. it's such a wonderful sparkle, does it matter?

in good almost antique condition
this is a style often reproduced, but this piece has all of the time-earned wear we'd want to see in a truly old piece:
-time earned brassy patina
-softening to the milgrain design details throughout the setting and on the shoulders of the band
-small chips to the facets of the stone (see photos)
-a sizing seam from a previous size adjustment
-a gorgeous older hallmark with time-earned softening/wear
the stone is not perfect and does have microchips throughout the facets, which honestly takes the stress out of wearing this piece
there are some areas on the sides of the setting where the filigree doesn't fully connect to the base of the setting. it is very difficult to tell whether these are time-earned losses in the setting or whether these are original inconsistencies in how the ring was made.
