is it a pill box? a chatelaine rosary case? whatever it is, it's quite old and offers a wonderful secret compartment for whatever spells you need to contain. it's being sold in as-found condition, uncleaned because it's the buyer's choice whether to clean it and remove the '62' label inside the compartment or whether to leave it as-is

in good antique condition

this is in as-found condition and if you wanted to use it for pills, etc you'd want to give it a serious cleaning and remove the '62' label inside the compartment

hinge works easily and lid fits snuggly

clasp bail does open, but it needs some convincing or a nice oiling/cleaning 

heavy patina, surface dirt, scratches, dents, dings, dulling, and signs of having been worn and loved
