every once in a long while a wild cat ring comes around and offers slightly more intrigue than a traditional lion ring — this is one of those times! whoever designed this truly went for all of the details, including teeth and a tongue

 very likely a custom or artisan piece, this ring is crafted in 14k yellow gold with bright blue sapphire eyes

as is true of great big cat rings, this one was worn and loved and picked up wear patterns that are truly time-earned. there's no substitute for time-earned stories.

C O N D I T I O N 

in good vintage condition

band is out of round and has a discolored, visible sizing seam — clues that the size and fit have been modified over time

significant wear to the design details of the fur on the shoulders of the band

minimal surface wear to the sapphire eyes

it has some very very stubborn remnants of old caked on polishing compound. it's been soaked, scrubbed, worked at carefully with wire brushes, but theres still some stuck in hard to reach crevices (appears milky white on the surface of the gold)

there's a minor crack/casting defect on the underside of the setting midway between the ears. a jeweler's recommendation was to leave it as-is unless it begins to crack further.
