a vintage figamariner link chain has been re-worked with new clasps reminiscent of a watch chain — a new clasp in the style of a dog clip clasp, but without the swivel feature, and a new clasp in the style of a sailor clasp.
solid sterling silver. the figarmariner chain has a bright, shiny hue and its Italian origin story hint that it's likely rhodium plated. rhodium plating is added to many Italian sterling silver chains to add extra shine, while preventing tarnish. the rhodium wears away over time, and cannot easily be removed. re-plating is an option, but also a matter of personal preference. on daintier chains with smaller design details like this one the fading rhodium plating is less obvious.

jump rings between chain and clasps are not soldered shut, but they're a thick, sturdy gauge. they do not lie flat like the mariner links

this is a reworked vintage item and will show surface scratches, dents, dings, dulling, wear, patina, and signs of having been worn and loved
