reimagined A N T I Q U E // timeless spike / 14k yellow gold victorian horseshoe spike / a brooch conversion pendant

an incredibly hard-to-find large victorian horseshoe spike nail that was until recently in brooch form and is newly a pendant. the brooch's design would have made it great for styling as a pendant, but the latch on the brooch was weak and wouldn't keep the brooch closed, so it's time for a new chapter.

this particular horseshoe spike is quite large and unadorned, making it a particularly striking long pendant

pale 14k yellow gold with a very slightly rosy hue, characteristic of the time period. it lost its markings when the brooch hardware was removed, but is most certainly solid 14k with a semi-hollow form, making this long statement pendant surprisingly lightweight

C O N D I T I O N 

in very good upcycled antique condition

there are areas on the backside of the pendant where there are surface hue and texture inconsistencies where the original hardware was removed

a preview caretaker left a small file mark on the back side of the head of the nail during an overly thorough acid test

this is an antique piece and will show surface scratches, very subtle dents & dings, dulling, wear, patina, and signs of having been worn and loved
