it's always a treat to find helpful stacking rings that add a bit of extra sparkle and this one is an especially lovely example. yes, it wold have been designed for a solitaire ring, but that solitaire ring isn't around, so now it's both a challenge and opportunity to find how this ring fits into a stack or to use it as a piece of a project
the diamonds are raised off the finger, resting on a pipe-cut style band beneath, with a small chevron shape as the center of the setting that would have hugged a center stone
this band has lots of potential: stacked with a wide flat band (as shown in photos) to add a bit more sparkle into a stack, stacked with a solitaire with complimentary dimensions, or it could be used as the start of an imaginative jewelry redesign project
the diamonds are all prong set, so if you dislike the sensory experience of prongs snagging on loose fibers then this set is NOT for you

each cluster/row of six diamonds measures ~4.55mm x ~6.7mm
setting rises ~4.1mm off the finger, and there's a 2mm rise/gap underneath the diamond setting, meaning if it is stacked with another band that band must have a rise less than 2mm off the finger
it's designed to stack with a solitaire with up to a 4mm center stone as the gap between the two cluster rows of diamonds is just over 4mm

in good vintage condition
these bands were previously joined together with two spacer bars, which didn't leave much room to slide another ring between the bands, so they've been separated by a jeweler, which has left the pipe cut style of the bands more pronounced with flat edges
when this set was sourced one of the diamonds on the end of the setting was squished and the diamond was missing — the prongs have been rebuilt and the diamond replaced, but it isn't a perfect match for size or color, so with careful inspection you can spot the replacement stone
