this piece came out of a Bay Area estate and is one of the earlier examples of a scarab ring that's cycled through this shop. the design details are intricate, considered, and abundant: a lapis scarab! a scarab on the undergallery of the setting! lotus flower details on the shoulders!

it's crafted in 18k Egyptian slightly rosy yellow gold, but has time-earned brassy bright yellow bloom patina throughout the design details giving it a yellower hue

likely a true art nouveau piece, this piece appears hand crafted and has perfect, subtle wear patterns

C O N D I T I O N 

in good almost-antique condition

the band was sized previously, leaving a sizing seam, but this ring is not a good candidate for sizing

the lapis inlay is in good condition with only minor surface wear.

the head's design is carved in relief/recessed into the setting, but there isn't evidence that there was additional stone there, rather the use of negative-ish space

minor softening to the design details of the lotus flowers and scrolling leaves on the side from sitting between fingers
