a large, nonthreatening snake crafted in carved mother of pearl with three pearl adornments and a tiny ruby eye, finished off with a 14k collar as a bail

marked 14k inside the bail, which is a bit tricky to find without magnification and great lighting

M E A S U R E M E N T S 

snake measures ~45mm north to south x 24mm east to west

tear-shaped bail has a ~4mm north to south opening

weighs 5.7 — lightweight for its size thanks to the shell and pearls

C O N D I T I O N 

in good vintage condition

the shell is free from chips or cracks

the bezel around the eye is more decorative than functional and the red eye appears to be paint or resin, not a stone. the bezel frame is glued into/onto the snake's face and with magnification you can see some of the yellowing glue residue

pearls were glued to the snake and some of that glue is visible on the back side of the setting

minor surface scratching throughout the surface of the carved shell, more noticeable on the backside of the pendant
