well, this ring has some stories. it's definitely an homage to designer panther rings, but this one is a very nice manifestation from Europe, but without designer origins. originally it was fully encrusted with CZ stones, but those stones were mostly glued into their wimpy prong settings, which presented a choice: replace every single stone with a natural diamond for a small fortune, or remove the stones and leverage negative space. it's pretty clear which choice was made. now it's a wearable story about both strength and rebirth, which is fitting given its ouroboros-like design.
thank goodness for the jeweler who agreed to rescue this big cat by removing the stones and refinishing the surface to leave a rustic, organic leopard print
