this piece came to me as the focal portion of a spinner pendant, with the posts for the spinner mechanism protruding from the east & west sides of the gold setting. my jeweler has removed the posts and has added a solid 14k yellow gold jump ring, converting this into a bold pendant

the intaglio carving is superb and while I'm not sure what the scene represents, I'm seeing a winged person holding a sword and a lion
