this sweet lion came from a pair of victorian era cufflinks that would have been worth keeping in their original form, except that the lion faces weren't a perfect match (a variation from and one cufflink had a bit of damage. and, so, it made sense to reimagine the cufflinks into a new form that would get much more wear.
the lion's head is a whimsical repousse with time-earned bloomed patina, a diamond treat in its mouth, and a green eye that's likely paste given its vibrance. the lion is mounted onto a plump, chunky vintage 14k band, which means the oval doesn't sit flush on the finger, making this a great candidate for stacking, which is a nice treat for figural ring with this much finger coverage

just shy of size 6.75 on the mandrel, but because of the width of the band it fits more like a size 6.5 or smaller, depending on how you like your wide bands to fit
band is almost a donut style and is ~5mm wide and slightly over 1mm thick
setting is ~18mm x ~13mm and rises ~4.5mm off the finger
diamond is ~1.5mm across
green eye is less than 1mm across

in good upcycled antique/vintage condition
the oval setting with the lion has a bright, matte yellow hue that looks much higher karat than it is. this is a bloomed patina that took 100+ years to form and polishing this ring would remove the bloom and return the lion to its original base hue
the prongs around the diamond are bent a bit wonky, but an expert jeweler suggested not messing with them until they become a problem
this is a reworked antique item and will show surface scratches, dents, dings, dulling, wear, patina, and signs of having been worn and loved
