ugh, if only rings could tell us their tales. the provenance on this piece was lost to time, but it has a customized maker's mark that didn't turn up any hits via some internet sleuthing, which may mean the maker was likely smaller scale and less present on the internet. does it hint to a 1980s origin as the design would hint? maybe! is it more recent? possibly!
it's a dynamic design that's simultaneously an eye, a signet, a solitaire, a wide band, and a shadowbox setting and it features a sparkly statement-sized black diamond. yep, that's a diamond.
being sold as pre-loved, but it may very well be vintage. hard to know without more clues

this ring was sourced so incredibly dirty that it took a while to see the depth of the shadowbox setting, yuck. the sheer amount of dirt and grime might be our best hint at this ring's age.
the diamond does have a tiny chip, which is fairly close to the bezel and not distracting visually. the price reflects this damage. the stone is a standard, calibrated size, so it would be easy to have a jeweler swap it with a stone of your choosing — diamond or otherwise
heavy time-earned surface scratches, dents, dings, and wear to the hallmarks — if you prefer your jewelry with a shiny luster then this will want some time on a jeweler's polishing wheel
