it's been a wonderful creatively energizing project to take old gold settings with damaged stones and reimagine them with new custom-cut stones

this is a gorgeous retro 1940s 10k yellow gold setting with stylistic design elements that nod to tanks and castle freshly adorned with a custom cut stone by extraordinary jeweler, Silver Mazzy. 

the setting was re-built to hold this stone securely, including new prongs and a new mantle for it to sit on

C O N D I T I O N 

in excellent upcycled condition

new gorgeous teal colored stone, though I can't remember what stone it is, but it’s from a slab from the US. The stone was custom cut for this setting, so it is more organic and rustic than perfect

setting has been rebuilt to fit the stone and withstand the tests of time. the stone sits on new corner pieces as the mantel and the the prongs are new, all built to frame this gorgeous piece of earth

this is a vintage setting from the 1940s so it will have wear commensurate with a piece of jewelry that’s 80-ish years old including patina, surface scratches, and inconsistencies in the roundness of the ring’s opening
