thank you, time and previous caretakers, for preserving this ring for over a century! it is a remarkable victorian era example of a celestial ring that features six sparkly grey rose cut diamonds in a rosy yellow antique gold

it recently found its way to a gold melt pile because the band was broken and the surface of the gold was a dark dark brown with patina. it's been expertly rehabbed by a master jeweler who preserved much of the patina, but removed enough to reveal the true hue of the gold

all of the diamonds are original to the setting and they do have some time-earned wear

setting rises ~4.5mm off the finger
