it appears that the knife was rarely used, and the photos show how far out of the cover it easily extends. perhaps an oiling would encourage the knife to pull out level with the case.

gold fill is still mostly intact and covering the base metal, likely brass

a small amount of pitting on the knife, which may need to be sharpened

this piece is being sold as a decorative item
