a vintage puffy mariner chain has been re-worked with new clasps reminiscent of a watch chain — a new clasp in the style of a dog clip clasp, but without the swivel feature, and a new clasp in the style of a sailor clasp.
solid sterling silver + gold plating — gold plating is a metallic lesson in non-attachment. it will fade and reveal the silver beneath. and, yes, areas you touch more — like the clasps, or the part of the chain that rests at the back of your neck — will fade faster. you choose: have it re-plated by a jeweler as necessary, or let it fade.

in good reworked vintage condition
the puffy mariner chain is vintage, but dead stock, meaning it was stored, not owned or worn. the gold plating shows very little wear, but there are dark patina areas in the recessed areas of some of the links and clasp — it's possible that a liquid solution that removes patina could remove these patina spots without compromising the plating. polishing with friction/cloth risks removing some of the gold overlay. if you adopt this item please holler if you want us to try to remove some patina before the item ships to you.
the puffy mariner links are puffy (semi-hollow), but they're free from notable dents and/or crushed areas. a few of them have minor surface imperfections that are original to the links / related to post-production finishing before it was plated
jump rings between chain and clasps are not soldered shut, but they're a thick, sturdy gauge. they do not lie flat like the mariner links
clasps are new and have minimal wear and are slightly mismatched for gold hue
this is a reworked vintage item and will show surface scratches, dents, dings, dulling, wear, patina, and signs of having been worn and loved
